What a great time we had yesterday during worship. The Spirit of the Lord was present and the choir ministered with unusual power. God blessed me to be able to preach with power and I believe lives were changed.
Well, today I’m off and sitting @ Six Flaggs Theme Park typing this post on my iPhone. Don’t you just love technology? So, what do you do on your off day?
A day off? What’s that? As of the past 18 months or so, whenever I have a day off work, I’m usually working in some other capacity. I take time off work to do the state convention and state congress of Christian educatio (which often require me to work), I take time off work to do school related tasks (which require me to do home work or volunteer work), and I take time off work to nurse myself back to health. I absolutely cannot WAIT until I get a day off for simple leisure (probably around Christmas). But things that I do for enjoyment on a regular basis are blog (inclding reading blogs) and watch movies. I tend to stick to these things activities due to convenience. I spend a lot of time in front of the computer, so blogging is easy access, and depending on the type of movie, I can multitask while enjoying it (ie while doing laundry or cleaning). I just started blogging at lasondrakidd.blogspot.com/ and my most recent post is a list of 101 things I plan to do in 1001 days. So this will consume my time for future days off 🙂
Glad you enjoyed your day off. Did you get on any roller coasters?
Hello Pastor,
Worship Services at Mars Hill is always awesome, but there are Sundays……..when……..the Holy Spirit is ushered in and takes over the place. From worship to sermon……..the present of God is in the place.
Days off??? As a wife and mother, I often feel like Saturday, Sunday (days off) are the days when I work my other jobs, cleaning, washing, cooking, etc. I often sat down on Sunday evening and thought where did the weekend go.
Last year, my recently hired manager, implemented “compressed work schedule.” This idea at my first review of the policy looked like it was going to be great. I work 9 days for a total of 80 hours, with one day off (compressed day off).
This schedule has made the “day off” idea a reality for me. Thursday is my “compressed day off” and this is the day, I spend for the most part chillaxing :-), (movies, during the summer spending mother-son time with my teenager, gardening- my low-cost therapy, whatever else comes to mind). HALLELUJAH !!!!!!!
Pastor, hope you enjoyed your day off!
Church was very good on yesterday! And packed! I usually go to mall (pray for me), catch up on projects and get plenty of rest on my off days. I like to watch different courtroom shows as well…LOL!
