🌟 Exciting News: Read the Latest from Mars Hill & Highlights from Min. Marcie’s Powerful Sermon, & more!

I am excited to share the latest updates and inspirational content with you. This week, we have encouraging news about my recovery, and reflections from our recent online service led by Min. Marcie Stowers-Wilson. Join us as we continue to grow together in faith and community.

Highlights from “Blessed Believers: Embracing God’s With Faith”

As I continue my recovery, I am profoundly grateful to Min. Marcie Stowers-Wilson, thank you for stepping in and leading our recent online service.

Key Points from the Sermon:

  1. The Faith of Mary and Elizabeth:
    • Mary: Despite her young age and the miraculous nature of the angel Gabriel’s message, Mary accepted her role as the mother of Jesus with humility and faith. Her response, “I am the servant of the Lord. May your word to me be fulfilled” (Luke 1:38), demonstrates her unwavering faith in God’s plan.
    • Elizabeth: Despite her advanced age and years of barrenness, Elizabeth believed the angel’s message that she would bear a son, John the Baptist, who would prepare the way for the Lord. Her joyful declaration, “The Lord has done this for me” (Luke 1:25), reflects her deep trust in God’s promises.
  2. Why They Were Blessed:
    • Their blessings came as a direct result of their faith and obedience. They believed in God’s Word and accepted their role in His divine plan. Mary became the mother of Jesus, the Savior of the world, and Elizabeth gave birth to John the Baptist, the forerunner of Christ.
    • Their faith transformed their lives and left a lasting legacy, demonstrating that trust in God’s promises leads to divine favor and fulfillment.
  3. Application for Christians Today:
    • Believe in God’s promises: Just as Mary and Elizabeth believed in God’s Word, we, too, are called to trust in God’s promises. Whether facing challenges and uncertainties or waiting for prayers to be answered, our faith can bring God’s blessings into our lives.
    • Obedience and Surrender: By allowing Mary and Elizabeth to surrender to God’s will, we can experience His peace and joy, knowing He is in control and has a perfect plan for us.
    • Blessings of Belief: When we believe, we open our hearts to the blessings God has prepared for us. This may manifest in spiritual growth, peace in trials, or witnessing God’s work in our lives and those around us.

Encouragement and Reflection:

As you reflect on the sermon, consider how to deepen your faith and trust in God’s promises. Think about the areas where you can surrender more fully to His will and believe in His perfect plan.

Let the stories of Mary and Elizabeth inspire you and remind you that blessings come to those who believe. Their faith was not just for them but for all believers, including you.

So, how will you respond to their faith? How will you deepen your faith and trust in God’s promises?

Thank you for being a part of Mars Hill Anywhere and your continued commitment to growing in Christ. May we all strive to live with the same faith and trust in God’s promises that Mary and Elizabeth exemplified.

Health Update and Prayer Request

I am pleased to share some encouraging news regarding my recovery. As I enter the third week after surgery, I feel much better.

On Monday, May 13, I had a follow-up visit with my surgeon, who provided an excellent report. I’ve been cleared to drive, walk outside, stretch, and resume light duties, although I have not yet been released to return to preaching.

I am deeply grateful for the progress and your continued prayers and support. Your unwavering support has been a source of strength and encouragement for me, and I am truly grateful for each and every one of you.

Thank you for your ongoing encouragement and understanding during this recovery period.

Weekly Devotional: Embracing What Is Meant for Us

As I recuperate, my days begin with worship, prayer, and reflection, listening more to God than speaking. This practice has not only been therapeutic but also enlightening.

This week, I’d like to share a personal reflection that has greatly aided my recovery and brought me peace. It focuses on the understanding that what is meant for us will stay in our lives, while what departs was never meant to be. Embracing this can free us from dwelling on the “might-have-beens,” allowing us to appreciate the constants that truly shape our lives.

May this reflection bring you the same comfort and clarity it has brought me.

What is meant for you will arrive in your life and remain in your life. What did not transpire was not meant to; the end of that journey would not have led you where you wanted or needed to be. If you are honest with yourself, you know this on the inside. There were so many signs that you willingly brushed over in the heat of blind hope. If you spend your life fixated on the might-have-beens, you miss the steady currents that have carried you all this way. Notice what stays, what is constant, and what perseveres. These are the things that the song of your life will be composed of.

Thank you for your prayers, meals, love gifts, and support. My family and are know what it means to have people who love and support you.
