As we come to the end of this month, I wanted to share with you the inspiring story of my father, Clarence E. Stowers, Sr.
At just 17 years old, he fled the segregated South to escape an angry white mob that was after his brothers. This experience set him on a path that would lead to remarkable achievements.
You can read the rest of his story here.

He established a new life in Chicago, where he and my mother founded Mars Hill Baptist Church, a global ministry that has touched countless lives.
He also owned property and businesses to ensure that Black people had a place to bank, live, and work, reflecting his tireless commitment to creating a more equitable society.
I hope my father’s story inspires you to continue celebrating the achievements and resilience of the Black community beyond Black History Month, and to work towards a better future for all.
