I need your help!
I’m noticing a disturbing trend on my Facebook timeline. It’s filled with negativity, sexually suggested dancing, fistfights, & bizarre/demonic criminal behavior. It appears people are in despair & perhaps have lost hope. Facebook and other social media outlets are the places people gather to mingle and converse. They are today’s wells….the gathering place for people to catch up on what’s happening. If Jesus were here today, he’d log on to Facebook.
Jesus didn’t hang out at synagogues. Jesus hung out at wells. Wells were more than just a place to draw water. Wells were natural gathering places in ancient culture. Jesus didn’t expect people to come to him. He crossed ancient cultural boundaries and went to them. Jesus went to the place where people gathered to show them a more excellent way. I’m inviting you to help me do likewise.
For the next five days, I’m looking for a minimum of 100 people who will join me & inspire/encourage others via Facebook & other social media outlets. I’m calling it #HopeSquad. Here’s what I’m asking:
- No negative posts
- Use your status updates to inspire/encourage others
- Inspire & encourage three DIFFERENT people each day for five days
- Share this post on your timeline/Twitter & recruit others to join #HopeSquad
- Use the hashtag #HopeSquad in your posts/tweets
- Check back & post your experience.
Remember, it doesn’t take a lot of people to inspire change…just the right people. Let’s to this! Thanks for your time!
