Recap Sunday’s Message: When Staying is Hard: Trusting God in Tough Times

Are you feeling overwhelmed by life’s challenges and tempted to give up?

Sometimes, the best decision you can make is to stay when it would be easier to go.

This powerful sermon explores Ruth’s incredible story and how faith and perseverance can lead to unexpected blessings. Learn how Ruth’s decision to stay changed her life, practical steps to find strength, and inspirational scriptures that will encourage you to stay the course in your own life.

📖 Key Scriptures:

• Ruth 1:16 NLT

• Galatians 6:9 NLT

• Hebrews 12:1-2 NLT

Reflection: What does God want you to want? In light of what God wants you to want, where does He want you to stay the course, even when it seems easier to walk away?

Life Groups Update

At Mars Hill, we believe spiritual growth happens in circles, not rows. Our Life Groups are on summer break after studying my book, From Rubble to Renewal: The Nehemiah Strategy for Modern Times.

While they are on break, I’ve been busy working. Here’s a sneak peek of my upcoming book, Bold Prayers: How to Pray With Confidence & Expectation. Stay tuned—it’s coming this fall!

Sustaining Mars Hill’s Mission

As we enter the summer months, it’s crucial to remember the vital role of financial support in sustaining Mars Hill’s operations.

Even though we’re operating in a hybrid manner, our expenses are still genuine. We aim to continue our ministry with excellence and help those far from God return to Him.

We encourage you to donate financially to help Mars Hill Anywhere keep doing its good work and grow.

Your donations don’t just help us; they also spread our message of love and forgiveness to people in need, both in our local area and worldwide.

A Heartfelt Thank You

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to Mars Hill Anywhere for your unwavering support while my wife and I were on vacation last week. Your prayers and encouragement have been a blessing.

A special thank you to Min. Marcie Stowers-Wilson, thank you for stepping into the Producer’s Chair and ensuring everything ran smoothly.

That’s the beauty of fully embracing digital and physical gatherings – we can stay connected and worship together, no matter where we are.

Recap Sunday’s Message: Letting Go and Moving Forward in Faith

This week’s message explored the power of letting go and moving forward in faith.

The decisions you make today determine the stories you tell tomorrow.

We all have moments we’re proud of and others we regret, but our story isn’t over! Shape your future with the decisions you make today. Sometimes, before starting new habits, you must stop the ones holding you back.

📖 “This is not good!” Moses’ father-in-law exclaimed.

You’re going to wear yourself out—and the people, too. This job is too heavy a burden for you to handle alone.” Exodus 18:17-18 (NLT)

Reflection: What must you stop to align with God’s plan? Identify one habit or behavior that’s hindering your growth.

💬 Join the discussion: What habit will you stop to live the story God wants for you?

Health Update & In-Person Service Reschedule

Recovering from surgery isn’t easy and takes longer than expected. Although my mind is sharp and willing, my body gets tired quickly until I build my strength.

Consequently, my wife and I are taking a vacation to rest and recuperate. Therefore, instead of worshiping in person, our leadership team decided it would be best to postpone our in-person service on Sunday, July 21, 2024, until August 4, 2024, at 10:30 AM (next in-person service).

Thank you for your prayers and support. We will worship online on all our streaming platforms.

Did You Know We’re Writing Our Own Songs & Music?

Transitioning from building a legacy, let’s discuss creating something new and beautiful through music.

Mars Hill Anywhere believes you can worship anywhere! Psalm 96:1 says,

Sing a new song to the Lord! Let the whole earth sing to the Lord!

In the Old Testament, new songs were sung as a response to some new work of God in redemption. This verse calls on everyone to worship and glorify God, reflecting gratitude and joy.

At Mars Hill, we write songs that express our unique experiences and devotion.

Check out our new song, “God’s Masterpiece,” and join us in singing a new song to the Lord. Listen now.
